Ben De Leon Elected President of De Leon & Washburn, P.C.

The Board of Directors of De Leon & Washburn, P.C. is pleased to announce that effective July 1, 2012, Benjamin S. “Ben” De Leon is elected President of the Firm and will assume the duties of President from his father and mentor, Hector De Leon – who founded the firm on July 1, 1977. Hector will continue to work with the Firm, and will serve as Chairman of the Board; Ben will become President and maintain his Managing Partner duties; and named partner, Pat Washburn will become Vice President and Secretary. Since founding D&W 35 years ago, Hector, former General Counsel of the Texas State Board of Insurance, has watched the Firm evolve from one engaged primarily in administrative law, to an all-services civil law firm that strives to find the most efficient, cost-effective solutions for its national clients in the courtroom, at the negotiation table, before state and federal agencies, and at the Texas Capitol. Hector states, “When I founded the firm, I never envisioned it being in existence as long as it has. With my middle son Ben taking over, my hope is that he can continue to build on what has been created over the past 35 years.” Ben echoes his father’s sentiments: “As D&W celebrates its 35th Anniversary in Austin, Texas, I look forward to expanding on the legacy my father created years ago; integrity, hard work, character and candor have been, and will continue to be, at the heart of the Firm’s mission.”
