De Leon Appointed to City of Austin Planning Commission
De Leon & Washburn, P.C. is pleased to announce that Shareholder Ben De Leon has been appointed by Mayor Pro Tem Mike Martinez to the City of Austin Planning Commission, effective December 10, 2009. Quickly becoming known as a rising young leader in the Austin community, De Leon was called upon by Mayor Pro Tem Martinez to fill a vacancy on the 9-member Commission. The purpose of the Planning Commission is to make and amend a master plan, recommend approval or disapproval of proposed zoning changes and control land subdivision within neighborhood planning areas and submit, annually, a list of recommended capital improvements for the City of Austin. A super majority of the City Council is required to overturn any recommendations of the Planning Commission.
